Time Taken
4 Days (Overall)
This recent project started with an existing window cleaning customer who asked us to help freshen up their exterior surfaces. The property had a large driveway at the front, along with extensive rear path and patio areas that had built up grime over time and were starting to look tired.
The issue
With large surface areas, day-to-day use and the British weather can quickly lead to dull, discoloured finishes. Alongside the general build-up across the driveway and rear areas, there was also a more practical problem: the driveway had sagged in places due to it not being installed correctly, creating an uneven finish that affected both appearance and use.
Site visit and plan
We arranged a visit to assess the size of the areas, the condition of the surfaces, and the extent of the driveway sagging. After discussing the customer’s priorities, we agreed a clear plan covering both the cleaning work and the repair:
-
Clean the large front driveway
-
Clean the rear paths and patio areas
-
Lift and level the sunken driveway section
-
Reinstate and strengthen the edges to help prevent future movement
How we treated the AREAS
Because this was a combined clean and repair, the job was completed in a structured way to ensure the best overall result.
1) Lifting and levelling the sagged driveway section
Before the final clean and finish, we corrected the uneven section of driveway. To do this, we:
-
Removed the edging
-
Lifted a number of driveway blocks
-
Leveled the base to restore the correct height and fall
-
Re-laid the blocks evenly
2) Re-concreting the edges
To help stop the driveway from sagging or sinking again, we reinforced the perimeter by:
-
Re-concreting the edges
-
Securing the border to provide long-term stability
3) Pressure and steam cleaning the driveway and rear areas
With the surface levels corrected, we then cleaned the exterior hardstanding thoroughly. We used professional cleaning equipment to lift:
-
Ground-in dirt and traffic film
-
Organic build-up that dulls the finish
-
General grime across the front and rear areas
This brought the surface back to a much cleaner, brighter appearance across all the cleaned zones.
The result
The end result across the driveway, rear paths and patio areas was remarkable, a much fresher, cleaner finish, with the added benefit of the driveway now sitting correctly and looking far more even and professional. Most importantly, the customer was delighted with the transformation and the completed repair.
