This customer got in touch because their driveway had become heavily affected by weathering, along with a noticeable build-up of dirt and grime from living on a main road. With constant traffic passing by, exterior surfaces often pick up more pollution, dust, and traffic film, leaving the driveway looking dull and tired over time.
The issue
As well as the general grime, this driveway also had a substantial amount of ingrained black spot staining across the surface. Black spots can be particularly stubborn, especially when they’ve been left to settle in and embed over a longer period, and they often need more than a standard clean to improve properly.
Site visit and plan
We assessed the driveway condition and discussed the best route to achieve the strongest possible result. Because of the level of staining, we planned for:

A full driveway clean to remove built-up dirt and traffic film

Targeted chemical treatment for the black spot problem

Additional treatment time if required, depending on how the staining responded
How we treated the driveway
1) Full driveway clean
We cleaned the driveway using professional equipment to lift:

Ground-in grime and traffic film

General weathering and surface dirt

Surface residue that was dulling the overall finish
2) Black spot chemical treatment (two applications)
Due to the severity of the black spot staining, we applied two rounds of chemical treatment to target the ingrained marks. This gave the treatment time to work effectively and delivered a much stronger improvement than a single application would have achieved.
The result
The result, as always, was fantastic — a noticeably cleaner, brighter driveway with a far more even finish, and a significant improvement to the heavy black spot staining. The driveway looked refreshed, far more presentable, and much better suited to a property on a busy road.
